Amy Carlson

 

Amy Lynn Carlson (born July 7th in 1968) is an American actor who is famous for her role as Linda Reagan in the CBS police procedural Blue Bloods as Alex Taylor on the NBC drama Third Watch, and Josie Watts in the NBC daytime soap show Another World.



 



 Childhood and early life



 Carlson was raised in Glen Ellyn by Robert Eugene Carlson Her father was a schoolteacher. Carlson was born in Elmhurst ([DuPage County Illinois], close to Chicago). She is of Swedish descent, and has roots in Smaland.



 



 Career



 1986-92: College and beginning of career



 Her first appearance was in Hollywood as a background actress for the film Lucas starring Charlie Sheen and Corey Haim. She later followed her older sister Betsy who attended Knox College in Galesburg.
